The link between this requires the optical module and the optical fiber transceiver to achieve. Many users have some doubts about the use of optical module and optical fiber transceiver. How should the two be connected? What are the matters needing attention?

1. The optical module is a functional module, or accessories, which is a passive device that cannot be used alone, only inserted in the switch and optical module slot; the optical transceiver is a functional device, is a separate active device, and the power supply can be used separately;

4. The optical module is more expensive than the optical fiber transceiver, but it is relatively stable and not easy to damage; and the optical fiber transceiver is economical and practical, but considering the power adapter, optical fiber status, network cable status and other factors, the transmission loss accounts for about 30%;
5. Optical module is mainly used for optical interfaces of optical network communication equipment such as convergence switch, core router, DSLAM and OLT, such as the backbone of optical fiber network such as computer video, data communication and wireless voice communication; optical fiber transceiver is applied in the actual network environment where Ethernet cable cannot cover and optical fiber must be used to extend the transmission distance, and is usually located in the access layer of broadband man, such as high-definition video image transmission of monitoring security engineering and the last kilometer of optical fiber connected to the man and more outer network;
In addition, the optical fiber module and optical fiber transceiver connection should pay attention to several points: the wavelength and the transmission distance must be consistent, such as the wavelength is 1310nm or 850nm, the transmission distance is 10km; optical fiber jumper or tail fiber must be the same interface can be connected, the general optical fiber transceiver SC port, the optical module is LC port.
