OM3 optical cable


transmission performance. OM 3 optical cable in 850nm window, using 850nm VCSEL laser optic source, optimized 50 μ m core multi-mode fiber, so that the fiber transmission distance can reach 300m in 10 Gb/s Ethernet.

Structure and performance. OM 3 optical cable has a compact structure, with the characteristics of low loss and low dispersion, so that it can maintain a high transmission speed and stability at different distances. Moreover, it has a small bending radius and strong adaptability, which can adapt to various complex application environments.

Applicable environment. OM 3 optical cable is mainly used for trunk transmission in buildings or data centers, and is also often used in 100-megabit Ethernet and gigabit Ethernet.


OM4 optical cable


transmission performance. OM 4 optical cable in 850nm window, using 850nm VCSEL laser optic source, its effective bandwidth is more than twice that of OM 3 optical fiber, and is compatible with OM 3 optical fiber. In Ethernet above 10 Gbps, OM 4 fiber is farther away than OM 3 fiber, up to 400 meters. Moreover, because it can support 40G / 100G transmission to 150 m, 50% more than the 100 m transmission distance of OM 3 cable, it is considered more suitable as a multi-mode cable type to support 40G / 100G transmission.

In general, both OM 3 and OM 4 indoor multi-mode optical cable are suitable for high-speed data transmission scenarios, but OM 4 optical cable has more advantages in bandwidth and transmission distance, and is more suitable for multi-mode optical cable type to support high bandwidth transmission.
